1. Who we are and what Yowamca does

Yowamca is a learning platform for Nigerian secondary school students (JSS1 to SS3). It offers lessons, practice questions and mock exams, discussion rooms, games and competitions, live classes, and a marketplace where students and parents can book independent tutors. Tutors are independent people, not employees of Yowamca.

2. Accounts

• You must give true information and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Students under 18 should use Yowamca with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. Parents can link to their child's account and pay for lessons.
• Tutors and schools are checked before they can teach or open a school page. We may refuse, suspend or remove an account that gives false information or breaks these terms.
• You can close your own account from the My account page. Accounts with open payments or lessons must be settled first.

3. Behaving well

Yowamca is a place for children to learn, so we hold everyone to a high standard. You agree not to:

• bully, threaten, insult or share anything sexual, violent or hateful;
• share phone numbers, home addresses, social media handles or other contact details in public areas, or try to move a student away from Yowamca to avoid its protections;
• cheat, copy exam answers, or use the platform to help others cheat;
• pretend to be someone else, or attempt to hack, overload or misuse the service;
• upload anything you do not have the right to share.

We may remove content and suspend accounts to keep students safe. Posts, photos and rooms are moderated, and serious matters may be reported to the proper authorities.

4. Tutors and lessons

• A tutor sets their own price. Yowamca does not guarantee the quality, results or exam grades of any lesson.
• Online lessons take place in Yowamca's built-in video room. For home lessons, a parent or guardian should be present or know the tutor's arrival and the address, and should judge whether they are comfortable.
• Tutors must be honest about their qualifications and must treat students with respect. Tutors may not meet or contact students for lessons outside the platform's booking and payment rules.
• Lesson video calls are not recorded by Yowamca.

5. Payments, escrow and refunds

• Payments are made in Nigerian naira through Paystack or from your Yowamca wallet. Yowamca does not store your card details; Paystack handles them.
• When a lesson is paid for, the money is held in escrow. It is released to the tutor after the lesson is completed and confirmed, or automatically after the review window if no problem is reported.
• Yowamca keeps a service fee from the tutor's earnings. The price you pay is the price you see before paying.
• If a tutor cancels a paid lesson, you are refunded to your Yowamca wallet straight away.
• If you cancel a paid lesson at least 24 hours before it starts, you can apply for a refund from the Lessons page. An admin reviews it and, if approved, the money goes to your Yowamca wallet. Lessons cancelled less than 24 hours before the start are not eligible unless the tutor agrees.
• If a lesson did not go well, report a problem before the money is released, with a short explanation and any proof. If a refund shows as paid but you did not receive it, use Report it on the Billing page.
• Wallet money can be used for any lesson on Yowamca. Receipts, statements and verification codes are available from the Billing page.
• Tutors can withdraw their earnings to a Nigerian bank account after admin approval.

6. Your content and our content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it on Yowamca you allow us to show it to other users as part of the service. Lessons, questions, designs and software on Yowamca belong to Yowamca or its contributors; you may use them for your own learning but may not copy or resell them.

7. Games and competitions

Games and competitions are for learning and fun. Scores and rankings can be corrected or removed if we find cheating. Prizes, where offered, are described with each competition.

8. The service and our responsibility

• We work hard to keep Yowamca available, but we do not promise it will never have errors or downtime.
• AI features can make mistakes. Check important answers with your teacher or textbook.
• To the extent the law allows, Yowamca is not responsible for losses that come from tutors' conduct, from your use of third-party services such as Paystack, or from events outside our control. Nothing here limits rights you have under Nigerian law that cannot be limited.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms. When the changes matter, we will tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using Yowamca after that, you accept the new terms. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
